Voting Power Hour [Emma Stone, Selena Gomez, and more!]
We don’t have to tell you that your vote is your voice. You’re on our email list, you read these Medium posts, you’re voting early — you get it. Yet, year after year people who care about the future of our country decide, for better or for worse, to sit the election out.
How do we change this? How do we create a more engaged and inclusive democracy? The All IN Campus Democracy Challenge is working on an answer to that this year because friends don’t let friends ghost the vote.
The ALL IN Challenge is a national, nonpartisan nonprofit that provides support and recognition to colleges and universities for their commitment to increasing student voting rates. The turnout among college-aged voters has seen an upswing in recent election cycles. The ALL IN Challenge wants to make sure that trend continues.
The Challenge is focused on supporting higher education institutions to make sure students show up and speak up with their votes. Since the campaign’s launch, the ALL IN Challenge has worked to engage students at more than 760 campuses across the country.
As we inch closer to the Nov. 3rd election, the ALL IN Challenge is launching “Voting Power Hours” to build excitement and momentum. At these events, students get first-hand experience with voter engagement. Over the course of the hour, they reach out to friends and family members via text and encourage them to make a plan to vote.
And to keep students motivated, the ALL IN Challenge has mobilized a star-studded lineup of guests. Their guests include Dave Matthews (10/22), Selena Gomez (10/24, hint hint), and a roster of other powerhouse names. Anyone anywhere can join a voting power hour to help get out the vote.
